Dayton
Tooling & Manufacturing Association
Serving the advanced manufacturing, tooling and machining industry
in the Greater Dayton region.
Purpose
DTMA
is the advocate of the advanced manufacturing, tooling and machining
industry
in the
Greater Dayton region. We foster business success through networking,
education and sharing best practices.
DTMA
is a non-profit trade association founded in 1934, serving tooling,
machining, and manufacturing companies in the Miami Valley, an 11-county
region surrounding Dayton in Southwest Ohio.
Its membership has grown to over 300 companies, representing over
10,000 local employees. Industries served by DTMA members include aerospace,
agriculture, appliances, automotive, business machines, communications,
construction equipment, defense, electronics, environmental, food and
beverage, medical, and nuclear. Member companies are located from Cincinnati to Sidney in Ohio and to
Richmond in Indiana.
The association focuses on business, leadership, and
worker development and advocates for the industry at the local, state,
and federal level. Building a strong relationship among tooling,
machining, and manufacturing companies is crucial as the industry deals
with increasing competition pressures from the global market.
The
association is governed by a board of trustees, a high level, strategic
thinking leadership group that sets the direction for the association.
The association’s purpose, benefits, and services are executed
by staff and committees, comprised of over 115 volunteers from member
companies. The
association's operations are guided by its strategic plan.
DTMA's pursuit of excellence is never ending -- precision and
accuracy are the trademarks of the industry and of the association.
The
association is funded largely by dues from its member companies and, to
a lesser extent, non-dues revenue generating programs and services.
DTMA is an affiliate of the
National
Tooling and Machining Association.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor, the Dayton MSA has
1,780 manufacturing companies employing 55,700 people -- making the
Miami Valley indisputably one of the top five manufacturing centers in
North America. DTMA is here to serve the needs of the industry.
The
major benefit of belonging to DTMA is the absence of isolation . . .
isolation makes you feel that experiences and problems are unique to
you, and the only solutions available are those that are dreamed up by
you. Conversely, membership in the association provides the power of
collaboration . . . sharing, networking, and learning from others’
successes and failures. Serving on committees allows you to interact
with and learn from other professionals, which propels you forward in
your own professional development. –
